...of Nightfall's Angel! It is finished, at long last. I say that because I believe I started writing it way back in 2019. It's been so long, I don't even remember! It's my shortest novel, only 68,000 words, but it definitely took the prize for taking me the longest time to complete. I think it is just 20,000 words shy of being a true novel, so it may get classified as a novella, but that's all right. It's done and ready for some editing to polish it up and make it pretty. Now, the one thing about it taking so long to finish is that I did a lot of the editing along the way, so I'm hoping I don't have any drastic changes in my future.
Besides striving to be my first stand-alone novel, even though the characters are spun off from the Moonlit Wings series, this novel will not be published through Smashwords. I am planning on publishing it as an eBook, but exclusive to Amazon and that means, in Kindle format only. Why am I doing this? Well, I lost my most excellent format assistant who deftly navigated through all of Smashwords' rules and regulations regarding formats. None of which I am or ever have been capable of deciphering. So, there is that. Now when I publish through Kindle Direct, they take care of the formatting and since it's only one type of file for Kindles, it's a much simpler process. I hope my Nook readers will forgive me.
And while I had originally intended to publish digitally without paperbacks, I changed my mind about that considering my Kindle-less readers won't have access to it otherwise. Besides, I'm old-fashioned when it comes to books. I like the feel of a book in my hands. I can autograph them, too!
Which brings me to the subject of my cancelled (again!) book signing. The original agreement between myself and the venue I was going to sign at was fraught with misinformation and lack of communication. Their demands regarding payment would have exacted the lion's share of my profits, so I called it off. Hopefully, with the release of the new novel, I can line up more signings at other venues.
Whew! This is a long one today. I like having news to post though. I hope you like reading about it. Till next time!
